My Comments
I'm not sure what I was thinking but I had been watching and wanting this keyboard for a while. It doesn't have a terribly wide sound selection but there was something different and interesting about this unit. So as I said I had been watching it on ebay for about 2 years. Nobody wanted it but the seller continued to list it. He had lowered the price, but not much, then one day ebay offered a 20% coupon and it made it almost fall into my price range, although I think I paid alot more for this than I should have, but prices for analogues continue to soar.

Well I guess I owned it for 8 days, not physically, but the seller said it has some unspecified problem and cancelled the transaction. So very disappointed. But It does mean I have money to put towards something else.

So 5 years later, I bought another one. Lol, so when I first turned it on, I thought it was going to explode! The transformer buzzes so bad, I think I will have t replace it. Aside from that it is well used, but in good shape. A couple of the keys weren't working to start, but it was just dirt and neglect, within a few moments of playing on them they started to sound again. So the sounds ... well. Definately not the most versitile keyboard I have. In fact I hav almost the same sounds with my EP-11. Except there are a few more comtrols to noodle with and of course there are 2 channels. You can tune/detune each channel. there are the 3 different pianos ( basically more treble-y and harpsichord sounding). There is the range in feet, 16 or 8, and channel 2 has 5 2/3 which is a nice fifth. A sustain control (release for ADSR people) for each channel, and also a channel mix balance. Then there is a simple EQ (5 bands) that you can bypass for each channel. That's it for sound altering controls. As far as performance, it has an arpeggiator with 4 controls. There is a level, rate (speed), 4 Variations, and 4 beat types (3,4,8,16). This can also be controled by Roland's DIN Sync. Oh and lastly there are 2 volume sliders, one is for the output, the other marked monitor, is for the crappy built-in speaker. So it is a really quirky analogue, hmm, not a synth, but definately not a piano either.

I got the manual from roland, but I doubt there is much out there worth looking at.
